So far, it looks like WorldCraft 2 Lava has not yet made it into Survival Mode, but you can play with it a little bit in Creative Mode. Like Water, this block has yet to be fully developed and implemented. Lava in Creative Mode acts just like a block like dirt only slightly transparent with red color. Other than that it has no liquid properties and does not cause damage.
How hard could it really be to have the block cause some damage and be transportable in a bucket or other container. Probably not that hard to do. I suppose adding it to the randomness of a world could take some work maybe. It would also have to burn surrounding things like grass and trees. One of the funnest things to do and easiest ways to clear land in Minecraft is to start lighting trees on fire with flint or Lava. It’s also quite enjoyable to watch the massive flame burn through the knight especially now that they have very large jungles full of flammables.

Not sure when the next update is going to be, but it sounds like it might be put in the game officially when it does happen. Until then your only options is to build worlds with friend and use your imagination, I’M BURNING! Just kidding.
Check back in the near future for any updated information and feel free to leave a comment if you have any other insight you would like to share. I sure hope they come up with something soon as I think I’ve done just about everything there is to do in this little app. A fresh new content update with lots of new blocks, Mobs, equipment, and tools is way over due. I suppose if they do too good of jobs ranking in the downloads they run the risk of a lawsuit especially if they do better than the mobile Minecraft app.
